Learning happens wherever life happens! Our sessions may take place at home, at daycare, or during community outings—such as visiting a park or playground, shopping at a mall or grocery store, ordering food at a restaurant, exploring the library, or taking public transit. We choose settings based on your child’s needs and goals, creating opportunities to practise communication, social interaction, waiting, safety, and independence in everyday situations. We also support daily routines, including toilet training.
Sessions typically range from 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the activities, location, and goals. A home session may be shorter, while a community outing may allow more time to practise several everyday skills.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to participate or use the time to attend to their own schedule. We’ll discuss what works best for your child and the session’s goals. Sometimes, we may suggest giving your child and the practitioner some space to build a connection; at other times, we’ll invite you to join in and practise strategies together. Parent coaching sessions involve your active participation and guidance from us.
We usually bring teaching materials and also use familiar toys and everyday items from your home to make learning practical and engaging.
